MATCH REPORT
Silsden came out comfortable winners over local rivals Eccleshill United on Wednesday night in a 5-1 triumph.
With most of the action coming in the first half, Casey Stewart bagged twice whilst Robbie Fox and Kayle Price also found the target. Zachary Sangster with the goal for the hosts.
We continued to control the game in the second 45 and added to our tally through Fox’s header, securing a massive result in the fight for the NCEL Prem title.
A regular feature of our season so far has been our ability to start quickly, things were no different in this game as Fox was brought down inside the area just 2 minutes into the tie.
The former Farsley man stepped up himself and rifled home for his third goal already since joining last month.
Stewart doubled our advantage on 11 minutes, riding a challenge on the edge of the Eccleshill penalty area before curling a composed finish into the far corner.
Just five minutes later and Price got in on the act, bringing down a skyward Cody Cromack pass, racing into the box and poking through the legs of the keeper.

The hosts did find themselves with an opportunity to get back into the game on 28 minutes as Sangster was able to force home at the back post.
Any potential doubts were put to bed soon after as Stewart doubled his tally with a stunning freekick that curved beyond the wall and into the corner of the net.

After that frantic first half, both sides settled in the second with neither team able to create a true clear cut opportunity until the 69th minute mark.
Eccy keeper Harvey Kelly miss hit his clearance and it looped upwards allowing Fox all the time in the world to nod into the empty net.
That result sets us up well heading into our away trip to Pickering Saturday, knowing a win could see us clinch the title should other results elsewhere go our way.
With the chance to catch a moment of Sils history this weekend, we need all your support!
Safe travels to everyone making the trip and UP THE SILS!
