FORREST ADDS TO SQUAD | Ainscough Joins, Trueman & Jakovlevs Return.
Over the last two weeks, Danny Forrest has moved to bolster the Silsden AFC squad in the light of recent suspensions and injuries.
25 year old midfielder Rick Ainscough joins after a period training with Clitheroe FC. Rick has a wealth of experience, playing abroad since leaving Blackburn Rovers at the age of 18 including spells in the USA, Canada, Finland and Gibraltar.
Re-joining the club are midfielder Mark Trueman and goalkeeper Callum Jakovlevs.
Manager Danny Forrest had his say:
”From the first training session it was obvious to see Rick possesses quality. In the two games he has played so far we have seen him grow and I’m looking forward to seeing more strong performances in a Silsden shirt. Rick has all the tools to be a quality player for the club, once he’s fully settled in and his match fitness improves I’m confident we’ll see him have a huge effect on games. I’d also like to say thank you to Clitheroe FC Manager Lee Ashforth for his assistance on the signing of Rick.
I was delighted to see Mark Trueman back in a Silsden shirt on Saturday in our FA Vase game against Bedlington. He’s a player of real quality and he put in an outstanding performance. He walked back in the dressing room as if he’d never been away and the rest of the lads have a huge respect for him. His role as Youth Team Manager at Bradford City takes priority of course and he signs on dual registration with Thackley, so we may not see him as regularly as we’d like but just to have him back involved with the club is a boost for everyone.
It’s also great to have Callum back! He will challenge Sammy Lee and Matt Keen for the number one spot. Callum has been a great player for the club over the past two years, I know the qualities he has and he just needs some confidence back. Callum is hungrier then ever and I’m sure he’ll push Sam all the way, the competition is healthy and can only be a positive for the squad.”
