PLAYER MOVEMENT | One in, one out as Turnbull joins and Jakovlevs moves on!
The club can this morning confirm the signing of versatile Chadderton player Jack Turnbull. Jack joins after a successful period at Chadderton where he finished the 2017/18 season in great form scoring 12 goals in the last 12 games. In the lead up to the 2018/19 campaign Jack was named Chadderton’s club captain and continued his goal scoring form with a hat trick versus AFC Liverpool earlier this month. Jack’s previous clubs also include Atherton LR and Northwich Victoria.
After losing the number 1 spot in recent weeks, goalkeeper Callum Jakovlevs has decided to move on to seek regular first team football. Callum made 102 appearances for the club in just over two years and made a huge contribution in last season’s record breaking NWCFL Division 1 title winning campaign. The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Callum for all his efforts in his time as a Silsden AFC player.
Manager Danny Forrest had his say:
“I’m delighted to get Jack tied up and committed to Silsden AFC. He’s someone I’ve tracked for a while, he knows the level and has plenty of experience in and around the division. He fits the bill in terms of his attitude and willingness to work for the team and he also has ability to go with it. He’s comfortable in a number of positions which is also a huge positive as we’ve picked up injuries recently and there’s a few lads carrying niggles.
I’d also like to thank Callum for everything he’s given the club over the past few years. He’s been a great player for Silsden AFC and a pleasure to work with. I’m sure everyone at the club would join me in wishing him well for the future.”
